hi, i just wondered if this feeding sounds about right :
the mare is 16.2 3/4tb (pics in gallery) she is quite a gd doer and can tend to get fat so i have cut her down slightly this year...she is fed once a day at night where she has a lrge scoop of hi-fi light, and about 1/4-1/2 a scoop of mix; which is actually senior mix as it is mostly for my other horse, but i give her some in the winter instead of buying her something different which i dont think there is any problem with. she also has carrots and some epsom salts.
she has about 10 hrs turnout a day with hay in the field (couple of sections) and also 2 haynets at night.
do you think this seems about right, i have never really "thought2 about what i am feeding her, and due to her sometimes rather large tummy she can get wondered if it was too much or not.
she has been out of work for a month now so exercise should work some off, and also you can just see her ribs so she cant be obese her stomach just looks droopey!!
