I was just wondering if I should change Ethel's feed ... She is a TB living out 24/7 unrugged and is worked about 2-3 times a week for 15mins at most in work and trot as she is only 3. She seems to keep weight well, has a big belly but you can see the top of her ribs. Her droppings are kind of like cow pats, not really runny, but not normal, she has always been like this as far as I know (she used to be where I work and I mucked her out reguarly, but my memory is shocking :p ) She is fed a handful of happy hoof just to mix her biotin and garlic through, but is there anything I can feed her to harden up her droppings and give her ribs a bit more coverage?? Thanks in advance to anyone with advice/answers :D

Okay, I had thought it could have been to do with the garlic, but then thought it wouldnt make any difference as she was like it before?? I also thought about pink powder after seeing on here about it, so will take her off it and get some pink powder and see what happens :) Thanks :) Any other advice still welcome

if shes got a big belly but tops of ribs are showing i think that she just needs toneing. my tb is out of work through lameness and is fat and looks very abnormal as he is usually a tonned wipet type. i would just add a balancer or something to her feed, top spec is the best, will give her a nice shine to her coat and you wont need to feed the biotin, tbh, biotin is a waste of money, if she has 'typical' tb feet then the best thing is NAF profeet. tb feet dont grow very well and when they do they crack and splay, biotin makes them grow more which just makes them crack and splay more, profeet encorouges good quality growth and actually gives the shoe something to be nailed on to. cant recomend it enough!

Okay :) just looked on Topspec website and there are loads of products! Which one should I use? Also, she has good feet for a TB, she's on the biotin because when I got her she was shod all round and her feet were soft from being stood in a stable almost all day everyday, so I put her on biotin when I took the back shoes off to help them a bit.
