CP is. as most Irish horses I've come across, quite sugar sensitive.

Now the flab has gone I'm left with a coblood who needs topline, it's coming with correct training but I need a feed which will feed the muscles but not blow her brain.

She's currently on Hifi no added sugar and A&P calm and condition which isn't cutting the mustard!

I tried her on Saracen show improver nuts but again she's a bit jiggy on it.

She's on excellent quality ad lib hay and I know when Dr Green comes through she'll blow but in the meantime any suggestions?

Have you thought of linseed? You know my mare, sensitive as anything but doesnt fizz on this at all...just be warey of building too much condition.

I have just started mine on straights - oats, fast fibre, chaff, barley and linseed - by rights should be blowing his brain but he is building more muscle than I have seen on him in a long time and has just the right enough bounce without being ridiculous and its miles cheaper than feeding the mixand chaff I was.

I have a sugar sensitive cob too, I have decided to try Blue Grass Releve when she's back in full work (whenever the weather allows!) I give her a handful of linseed with her meal already and it keeps such a shine on her coat.

Topspec calm condition £12 a bag. It's fibre based so no fizziness like all the a&p stuff. Best thing I've used. New forest has gone from severe muscle wastage due to saddle to looking ultra fit with a superb top line in 3 bags! Gave him 3 mugs a day.
