I was just wondering if anyone had tried, or has knowledge on using any of the following for helping to maintain a deep black coat colour over summer rather it bleaching:

Black as Knight (cheval international)
Paprika
Black oil sunflower seeds

I was intrigued by that Black as Knight stuff for a while but went off the idea!

Doesn't seaweed help with coat colour, I know that Black as Knight contains it? Ive found Soya Oil helps, I know its only meant to make the coat shiny but its made my grey come out slightly greyer than usual (considering he's going white, if you know what I mean!).

Ive found 3 reviews of Black as Knight:

How about just chucking on a fly sheet during the day? My black horse has sweet itch so wears a Boett all the time, has definately stopped him getting that horrid brown tinge!

Thanks for the links. I was very tempted initially, but its very expensive so am not sure really with the mixed reviews.

He does wear a fly sheet during the day, which does help, but i was just looking into whether there was anything else i could do to help.

Wash sweat off after working - the salts in the sweat makes the coat bleach more....(like how surfers go blonde from sea water and sun!)

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of switching to simple systems feeding anyway in the near future and using the total eclipse supplement which contains seeweed, so thats good to know, thanks
