Interested to hear some opinions on some of the different supplements and additives on the market designed for crib biters/stomach ulcers/acid etc - good or bad!

Classic case of crib biting and wind sucking thoroughbred, hard to maintain condition not least because horse doesn't get his head down and graze!

Will look forward to reading replies!

I tried a number of the supplements and none of them worked, if your horse is struggling to gain condition have you thought about scoping for ulcers?

Its a thought in the back of my mind, but I'm pretty convinved that he isn't blossoming just because he eats much less roughage than the other horses do - more time spent at the fence or stable door!

He's not worryingly poor - just hard to get that final finishing "top" on.

I'd used Settlex with another horse who cribbed with the same frequency and that did seem to help him keep weight on (he could look like a show horse one day and a toast rack the next if you didn't manage him very carefully!) but its had no effect with this chap!

I use pink powders and a general vit/min supplement as standard on all horses.

Thank you to both of you for replying!
