Feed with no Alfalfa or molasses

Does such a thing exist, I cant seem to find one trying to change her diet to hopefully help stop the itching. We have ruled out little critters so are working through her feed to see what she is allergic to.
Any ideas welcome.

also look at things like speedi beet, grains and a general supplement.

Some of the balancers are alfalfa free Im sure

I would try straight feeds, rather than bagged complete feeds. That way you can introduce rule out one thing at a time.

Allen and Page I think! L-Mix certainly. Fast fibre I think as well.

I had the same problem trying to find such a feed, as my horse hated the Allen and Page stuff (too garlicky and sloppy) I ended up having to allow a little molasses as I couldn't find anything stocked locally that would do the trick. So now he gets mollichaff calmer or cool fibre.

Unless she has a real need for a lot of calories I would try good old fashioned grass nuts. We feed our old lady (30 year old cob) who used to be a good doer but no longer is, on grass nuts, non-molassed sugar beet and graze on. I think a return to straights is the answer and we no longer feed any proprietry brands to anything, that way we know what is in the bucket.

I feed my appy Simple Systems blue bag grass nuts (the lower value summer grass ones) and Ruff Stuff (their summer dried grass) as a chaff. And I soak it, and thats it. He used to be very itchy, and very grumpy and I used to hear his stomach gurgling all the time when I used mixed feeds. He loves it and seems to keep condition on him well.

Soft'n'Soak which is soya hulls. It contains Molglo but it must be very low amount as it is very low sugar/starch and supposed to be good for fussy eaters.
I took him off Speedibeet at the same time and his footiness has gone.

I feed micronised linseed, readigrass and pro hoof (ebay). I wont feed bagged stuff as its full of crap.

I wont know whether you feed any 'balancers' etc but if you do have a very very careful read of the ingredients, and then step away from them

Molglo is 40% sugar (mixture of soya and molasses) compared to molasses which is 47%. Still wouldnt feed it.

my youngster is allergic to alfalfa and i dont feed high sugars as she gets a little lively! i have her on Allen and Page Calm and Condition and Mollichaf calmer. I did have a mare who was allergic to natural sugars and she was on fibre been and alfa a oil however that obviously wont help you with the alfalfa
