I feed according to ingredients in the bag, would not care so much if it is branded or not however I think that sometimes non-branded feeds do not have full labelling of ingredients; was also once warned by my vet that for example non-brand mixes often have hidden levels of sugar in them so if you are after a controlled diet and want to make sure your horse gets what you want I think it is safer to go with branded -

No i don't, there really isn't much between them eg. from baileys no 4 to dodson and horrells whatever. Of course there is a difference between the energy contentfrom pasture nuts to competition mix, etc. But i feed barley, oats and sugerbeet! A lot cheaper and IMO better! When i do go for a mix i always buy non-branded.

Mine get whats there (Dengie Alfa A and Main ring blue), They will be having a bran mash once a week and hi-fibre cubes both feeds will be non branded because I'm a skinflint
