Feed?

this winter all my pony has been getting is happy hoof and redi grass and carrots. i dont know if i should give him anything else, he has a stable and we do a lot of schooling and hacking out. i just dont know if i should give him something extra?

Unless he's underweight then they shouldn't need anything apart from hay/grass or both if stabled at night. I don't feed my two natives and they are out 24/7 on good grazing no hay and the younger one at 18 is unrugged!

If he is in good shape then there is no need! If you think he could do with something else, the bucket licks are pure vits and mins

As long as he is in good condition and not underweight or overweight then no he does not need anything else!
The only thing i might add to that diet would probably be a broad spectrum vit and min supplement. Or as Mrchives said, a mineral lick

if you are feeding the recommended amount of happy hoof you wont need to add any vits and mins as it is a complete feed with everything included.

However i find the recommended amount of happy hoof is a LOT, ie, too much! So i tend to feed less than the RDA and feed a vit and min supplement too.
