Hi all I haven't been around for a while due to being ridiculously busy!
After some advice as usual, I have my retired 15 year old TB who is quite good at holding his weight but not doing much other than enjoying life with the odd walk out/hack. I also have my 4 year old Welsh D who is starting his work and increasing as he gets fitter. He holds his weight well. Both horses have adlib hay when in and around 6 hours at least turnout a day during the winter. The Welsh is ridden around 5 times a week but only very light work, mostly hacking with the odd schooling session.
I am looking at changing their feed as what they're on now is a bit of a mix up. They both have added brewers yeast and salt into their feed. I want to put them on a chaff with a balancer but it is proving to be a bit more complicated than I thought! I have been recommended Equifeast CoolCORE with a dengie chaff. Does anybody have any experiences of this? It has been recommended because my Welsh can be slightly stressy and rushy.
Would the TB be able to eat the same feed and balancer as the youngster but with an added joint supplement or does he need something completely different?
I have also read about getting your grass analysed so I'm also looking into this.
Thankyou in advance!
