Hi,

In preparation for my goal coming home in September .. Early for me to be prepping I know. I have been looking at what he will be fed post weaning I had seen Dodson and horrell do a foal mix however trying to get hold of this is gold dust, no where stocks it on the internet I found x3 bags for sale on eBay, and none of my local feedshops stock it. I had also seen the Dodson and horrell sure grow and the spillers young stock mix but was lead to believe this was for one years old onwards. So my question is would sure grow be suitable for a 6month old ... And what have others fed there post weaned foals I'm concerned about OCD so don't wNt to over feed, he will have adlib haylage/hay and a mineral lick in his stable.

I forgot to add he is a Welsh D

Any advice / regimes greatly appreciated

:)

I had to comment on feeding a goal post as I was intrigued that anyone would want to feed one!!

I think many people do use Suregrow for weanlings and you are sure to get more replies on what is best, on the stocking in local feed merchants issue just decide what you want and nearer the time ask them to order some in, most places are more than happy to do so for regular customers as long as you keep them informed as to how much you want and remember to tell them in good time if you are going to stop using it so they don't have bags unsold sitting about losing them money, if you don't see something you want it is always worth asking, my local feed store will order pretty much any feed in for me and sometimes find it popular so actually start to hold it in stock.
