This is not diet caused, it's viral/infection based, whilst he's been fighting the virus, it's effected all four laminae (inflamed)
But, being a sensitive boy, I'm making some changes to help strengthen his immune system. He won't entertain Happy Hoof, detests it, and usually leaves half of it. He weighs in at 447KG on the weight tape, which is pretty light for a 15hh Shire X Cob.
He's fed pony nuts, speedi beet and alfa oil, have told the vet what his feed and haylage amount he gets each night. I've taken him off cider vinegar, as with having poorly guts (possibly caused by viral infection) he's very sensitive to bad stuff atm.
I came across this http://www.wildbirddirect.com/products/dengie-healthy-hooves/
Can I swap his alfa oil for this? he's going to be stuck in 24/7 for a week, so i'm also worried about boredom, he doesn't do bored, gets bolshy and grumpy
This could be the result of the rubbish weather and lack of grass. He may have ingested soil, or poisonous plants, to which the vet said, that by the time they've done all the tests, he may have made a complete recovery.
