My TB has come out of winter looking perfect weight wise. However he had most of the winter off and therefore i didn't bother clipping him.

His coat is looking really dull and lifeless. He isn't keen on grooming either which doesn't help matters! But however much i use elbow grease it still isn't getting that extra shine!!!!

Any advise to what i could feed him?

Now its the summer hes on 24/7 turnout and is being fed a large scoop of Hi Fi Lite and some limestone flour.
Hes abit quirky and sharp so don't want anything with any energy in it!

Thanks. :)

Corn oil does wonders for a shiney coat :D

My TB did nothing over winter either, and was a fluffy boy. He didnt look great after winter as he had a couple of courses of anti b's which knocked him off a bit.
I kicked him out full time mid April and I think it was the grass which really helped. Within a week or 2 he went down to just a handful of alfa a with some pink powder & some garlic, linseed & parsley oil (fab stuff!). He is gleaming & looks absolutley fab now.
So my suggestion would be make sure he has plenty of good grazing, and add some oil to his feed. If he is sharp then I wouldnt want to up his hard feed without allowing dr green a shot first!
Also, might be worth a worm count just to be sure all is well inside.

If he doesn't need any more weight or energy at the minute, and its just a coat issue, aside from a good daily strapping that would do wonders for him (but my TB doesn't "do" being brushed either so I know where you're coming from there!), its more likely to be a vitamin/mineral issue I would think than him needing any particular "feed" as such. My younger fatter geldings get Benevit in a bit of TopChop Lite at the minute which makes sure they get the full vit/min complement plus it has some linseed in which does wonders for coat shine. The TB actually gets Topspec Senior Balancer as he needs the extra support of the joint supplement and probiotics in that now.

I'd look at a good all round multi vitamin whether in a powdered form or a pelleted balancer and/or feeding something like a mug full of micronised linseed.

I agree with this.
Is there a specific need for the limestone flour?
