Am getting a yearling and wondering what to feed.Unsure about using a stud/foal mix as want something to give vits etc but not weight as hes ok just now( is going to be a big lad (has a right set of knees on him) but we have good grass at our place and tho lots of it at mo is lacking something .Would like something to give vits etc he needs at this stage without any bulk at moment. He has basically been kept on grass only until now I think
Thanks

To be honest, I just feed my youngster Alfa-A with an additional vits and mins supplement on top (Dengie performance vits). That gives her everything she needs in terms of nutrition (she's been on good grass all year also) and she's looking well on it.

mine just had a horselyx for vit etc and a stud course mix and lots of good grass as much as she wanted but be careful not to overdo the feed. people thin yoy need to pump them with food but you dont, slowly and gradually so they grow correctly.

Thanks for replies all very helpfull.
Don't want to overdo it as said hes going to be a big lad and am wary of overloading joints at this stage.
But also am wary of not giving him what he needs at this time.
So thought better ask so thanks again
