Hi just looking for some advice. I'm taking on a sec D yearling filly in a couple of weeks on full loan. Her owner has said she wants her keeping on a hard feed, at present she has coarse mix and Alfa A. Would you recommend just keeping her on this or change to something else ? Its a good few years since I've had a youngster on hard feed last time I fed spillers youngstock pellets ? Thanks in advance.

Suregrow fed at recommended rate for her weight is the easiest way to feed youngstock, plus good forage.

Sorry to hijack post, would this be good for a 17month old too? My yearling is on yearling cubes and a handful of chaff currently till the grass is better.

When she was younger, she was on Alfa A, a bit of coarse mix, Sugar Beet, and TopSpec Stud feed balancer. This was only to get her through a tough winter last year, however. I am not a fan of feeding youngsters a lot of hard feed if they have good forage and in summer she lived on good grass.
