My 6 year old 16.2 wb mare is now coming back into work and can be fizzy and spooky. She has just lost her summer tummy (turned out 24/7) This is what she is having twice a day:

3 handfuls dengie hi fi lite - 200g
speedibeet - 400g
cool nuts - 400g
cool mix - 200g (using up the bag)
a glug of cod liver oil and sprinkle of garlic granules.

she also has about 4 sections hay during day and night (each 2kg) and is turned out for approx 3-4 hours a day, where there is a bit of grass.

I'm concerned she's missing some vitamins etc. now the grass has gone and am contemplating a feed balancer instead of the nuts, which I have to admit are not the most expensive....

Any tips or advice as I don't want her fizzing up, or putting on weight, she is looking good at the moment, but with the extra work she'll be doing she will probably need a bit extra....

Thanks, and sorry for the essay!!

If you are just concerned about vit/mins then you could just use a broad spectrum vit/min supplement such as Equivite or Benevit, which would be cheaper than a balancer.

If you want extra things like a higher protein level and probiotics/prebiotics then go for a balancer instead.
