I currently feed my dressage horse a scoop of unmollased hifi and 1/4 scoop of fibre nuts. However I feel she requires a little more energy and something a little more to support her muscle development. Any advise on what to use? She goes crazy on most commercial feeds and anything cereal based is a big no no. I find it difficult to get the right ratio between slightly more energy and not oushing her over the edge. She is out on good quality grass also.

I am by no means an expert but you probably are not feeding recommended quantity for your horse to get optimum nutrition out of the feeds. Perhaps you could think of adding a suitable balancer to the diet so your horse gets all required nutrients without adding bulk to the feed?

I found that my very sensitve mare, who definitely couldn't eat cereals, did very well on soaked grassnuts with grass chaff. If she needed more, soaked Speedibeet, or alfabeet worked well. Take care with alfalfa though as many mares struggle to tolerate that too.

I give my sensitive mare Allen and Page Power and Performance which is molasses free when we are competing. She also has a forage balancer and vitamin E oil too.

I had one of mine on power and performance and had trouble with their hooves and they needed quite a lot to make any difference. I did better with alf alfa pellets and a handful of rolled oats. However some horses can be sensitive to AA, I did think mine went slightly spookier in the first couple of weeks but then settled down. I have my other horse on D&H Staypower cubes as he got on better with those than the P&P which sent him a bit tetchy.
