My cob is 17yr old and currently has alfa-a, pasture mix and blue chip dynamic morning and night. Over the last couple of week he has lost a bit of his bounce and my instructor has suggested trying him on a different mix such as sixteen plus. What are peoples thoughts on veteran feeds?
He is ridden 4-6 times a week, schooling, hacking and riding club.
Also any comments on his weight and condition welcomed :)

First of I'd like to say how well he looks :)

I don't rate blue chip myself to be honest, but I would of thought he'd be getting all he needs from that.

My advice would be to swap your pasture mix for Spillers maintenance veteran mix or swap your Alfa for Alfa A Oil.

My friend and I both have 17yr olds that do endurance, one is an arab and one is a TB and they are fed on Spillers Conditioning Fibre and High Fibre Cubes.

Good luck x
