Hi
I have a 25 yr old section d x arab gelding. He is currently having a small amount of happy hoof and high fibre cubes to administer his daily dose of pracend.
Should I be feeding something else? Balancers etc??
He is in very light work following a tendon injury and is a very good doer usually, but this will be his first winter as a cushings case.
Thanks in advance :)

If he is maintaning weight and happy then best to leave well alone :)

I feed speedi beet, thunderbrook base mix and a herb blend (I hand feed his prascend in fibre nuts) but my boy tends to drop weight easily and look poor if I don't keep shovelling the food in

If he does drop weight - normally you see the topline go first with Cushings, you can give him Speedi Beet and Linseed (both safe for Cushings) and a broad spec vit/min or balancer. I also give mine non-molassed Alfalfa (Dengie Alfa A or Alfalfa Cubes) in the winter when he is in work, as it's a good source of protein. But I only give 500g per day to not overload the liver.
