Hi I'm looking for advice on what to feed our collie. She's 5 yr's old and fairly slender anyway, but after getting an infected cut she had to go on antibiotics which she turned out to be allergic to!!!
So after this and been sick she has dropped to 12.8 kg and i'm lookin for ways to get some weight back on her.
At the moment she is having rice but she started to get bored and refusing to eat so she is on a low protein high carb feed from burns just a handful with the boiled rice.
Any other suggestion gratefully recieved

Thanks

I swear by raw green tripe to put weight on. You can buy it frozen from the pet supermarkets. Introduce it gradually, although it doesn't normally upset the. But be warned it stinks !,

Have you tried adding sunflower oil to add condition and make them eat up?

Oh yes, tins of tuna or sardines in sunflower oil are good.

Also, scrambled eggs, mixing in some dog biscuits at the last minute - or a boiled egg, then broken up in their bowl (shell incl

)

Wainwrights from Pets at Home do some meat trays that Popple loves (she's a picky eater and hard to keep the weight on).

Hope your dog picks up soon. xx

Beau went for a day without eating the other day, I put normal amounts, normal bowl etc dow and he just was NOT interested (so did the normal, remove, and allow access half an hour later etc) and he still didnt eat.......

Its just a collie thing, thye arent into eating as much as playing and working! (nutters!)

Raw eggs (be careful!) also are good for getting them to eat and improves coats dramatically!
