If the horse does a medium amount of work on on say (an hour of mainly trot) but is going to have the next 1 or 2 days off should I feed him his normal feed on the day he has worked or reduce it to a lesser amount of that day or just reduce it for the days he has off?

Ideally you should reduce the feed on the day it's not working.

I don't reduce on days off, but mine only have a low cal, high fibre diet and don't work that hard. If I was feeding hard feed, then yes I would reduce this but not the hay/hayledge.
