Sort of following on form the feeding bute thread. My horse had a terrible accident yesterday resulting in both back legs requiring stitching etc . she is settled now but i have been given large sachets of antibiotics to give her . She wont touch them - i have tried putting jam and syrup into the feed as well but no luck. The sachets have so much powder in them its hard to hide it in the feed.
Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks.

Do you mix loads of oil into the feed first, then mix it in?
I take it they are Trimediazine/Equitrim/uniprim similar.
Mix it in well then flavour with either molasses or cider vinegar.
You can syringe it, but they will take several goes.

I syringe mine! I make up a watery paste of a little water and yogurt (strawberry usually!) but try to avoid the 'bits' in it because they get stuck in the end of the syringe! It takes a little practice fitting it all in a 60ml dosing syringe!
