Would putting a young horse (5) on something like Blue chip original, still do the same job as if i gave it to an older horse who is more matured. Would i still see similar results?

Im just wondering since a livery said that by giving it to my 5 year old it would not benifit him and would be a waste of my money, but i know it is expensive, but im willing to give it a go. Just wondering what i should believe?

Thanks

yep i have read through all the case studies, thats why i was a bit confused. The lady saying it wouldnt work but the manufacturer saying it would. Still going to give it go i think

thanks

I used Blue Chip for years with my horse & it was really great stuff however I have since changed brands due to the price it currently sells at.

There are other balancers on the market that will give you the same results but with much less damage to your wallet.

Can you reccomend one? As i want a balancer, and i have been told that Blue chip is one of the best, but i really dont want to pay about £40 a bag!

Topspec does much the same job and is approx £8 cheaper and if you use the powder version that's about £25.

**However** if you use D&H suregrow..... it works out about £15 per bag - it is designed for babies but it is perfectly safe to feed to older horses (have checked

TopSpec is better than Blue Chip IMO. My girls look fantastic on TopSpec, OH's horse looks brilliant and is incredibly shiney on it.

I use equilbra - cheaper and this was the original feed balancer that a lot of others are based/copied from.

I originally put Cairo on it about 6 months ago, he was 22 and aging fast. It certainly seemed to do things for him - he looked a lot better for having it.

I now feed it to both my 4 year olds - they are still growing. In 2 weeks of feeding equilbra along with some linseed, Farra's coat has really improved and she has put on a bit of weight and looking good. Chancer really put on some topline and filled out on it, people commented at BSPA how well he looks.

Mine just get a few nuts and simple system lucie stalks/green gold with it.

Years ago I fed it to my TBs, again gave good results compared to them not having it.

i feed blue chip to my youngster didnt make a bilind bit of diffrence and its very expensive but then i tried top spec and it sort of worked i noticed a small diffrence but for youngsters i would recomend barly rings and bailys number four which would still be cheaper for them both. barly rings roughly about 6 pounds baliys number four roughly about 9 pound a bag. also if you are looking for a bulk feed feed bread as it willl bulk them up through the winter to fill them up.
