Feeding eggs

Horses were often fed eggs in the good old days - but I'm not sure if it was an every day occurance, and possibly for medicinal reasons only.

Trotting off to google.........

Feed 1-2 a day mixed into feed, ours wil try and nick them from you as you pass by (Chicken coop is next to the paddocks!)

i know it is not a horse but when we had a racing greyhound the racing kennel fed every dog a raw egg in there feed.(1 per day) when he retired we carried on doing it. he would eat all around the raw egg until he had finished the meat then lap it up made such a mess. how i miss my greyhound. RIP
