Does anyone have any experience of doing it? My vet has put my greyhound on Equi-Sup to try and improve her condition - it doesn't seem to be making any difference but it does mean her house training has gone right out of the window!

I would expect an adult dog normally to go twice a day, but she now cannot last more than about 3 hours before she has to go again - which means every time I go to work, or get up in the morning, I have to clean up after her. It is driving me mad

Has anyone else had a similar experience with your dog

Personally I would use raw muscle meat as a conditioner for a carnivore, that would provide Iron, encourage haemaglobin production and improve condition and would be a lot less expensive than a product designed for use in an omnivore?

Why not feed a greyhoud specific feed? Several companies do make them. Otherwise high calorie feed such as liquivite can help as they are designed for nursing bitches and weaning puppies to keep on condition but they are not intended for long term use.

Some greyhounds and larger sighthound breeds naturally will not develop much muscle mass without sufficient exercise and no matter what you stuff into them will look "skinny". Of course depends on the individual dog too. Lots of sighthound breeds I deal with often lack condition and owners say "oh he/she just will not eat enough or never puts on condition".

Left with us for a month or two and a controlled exercise program of walking / running (and not just left to wander around the yard all day = not exercise) - talking here about 3 - 4 miles of roadwork and 2 x 30 + mintes of field work daily. We see a completely different dog very quickly far better condition, coat, etc.
