My chap has always been excitable and forward going. After 3 years of hard work he's now working calmly and rythmically but I now feel that he needs a little bit of energy added. His workload has also increased now and I feel he's needing something else. I want to keep the calmness but increase his energy and stamina levels - any suggestions? He's fed TopSpec balancer and cool and condition cubes at the moment.

No advice, but your horse is soooo handsome!!!

How about adding something like Iron Xcell in his feed?

I had thought about some sort of tonic like this but wasn't sure if it would go to his head or not! Like the calm head he has now just want some more oomph!

purabeet or speedibeet (essentially the same stuff) worked for my lad. It's unmollassed and provides slow release energy with only 5% naturally occuring sugar. Definately didn't heat b up too much.

My mare is fed the same and is worked hard, (eventing, sj&hunting) i found on the cool condition cubes she would sleep! I swapped her to the topspec conditioning flakes, and had the energy, but still being level headed and for a grey sparkles! You can see her in the general forum under working hunter pics

Lovely horse, carries his tail like a flag!!

I would think something for slow release energy would be best. Before Jake's diet, I used spillers slow release energy cubes.

Mmm, might try that. I was always afraid that the flakes would blow his mind.

Yes i thought it would do the same with my mare, but i asked for a sample as she is always very fussy and feed two cups of it (maybe more if a particularly hard day coming up) and she has been a dream on it and devores it! I actually changed her bit back to a snaffle as she was more responsive x-country (also to do with schooling lol) Your horse is beautiful, one day i will own a coloured!

Thanks. I've bought some flakes and will add a cup at a time and fingers crossed he stays sane on it! 17hh of horse going off on one isn't what I want!

He is a bit of a stunner and I'm very lucky that he found me from a 'wanted' ad. He stands out even more as he's also got two blue eyes!

O fantastic, pm me let me know how you get on with it. 17hh! He's a big stunning boy, who would of thought you could fine something that quality on a wanted ad.
