Feeding Garlic & The Dosage?

(I know the jury is out on this one)..... But does anyone know how much garlic to feed a horse when feeding natural cloves?

It is for a 15.2hh horse, 13.2hh pony & 16.1hh horse.

I used to feed my 700kg horse a bulb a day - but tbh it was only pulling a figure out of the air. I stopped as I was told it can make their gums a bit sore - I just feed him the dried stuff now
