I am struggling with what to feed my 14.2hh welsh gelding. He gains wieght easily but I want him to have a bit of get up and go about him which he currently lacks. However I don't want him to be overly fizzy as he can be difficult in the dressage(one day eventing). If anybody could give me any ideas I would be really gratefull.
Thanks:D

Millie - I asked a similar question about my horse. NAF Energ and Aloe were the two things I was told about. Might be interesting to look at.

I have a highland with the same problem (if you can cal if that!)...gets fat on fresh air and tends to be a bit lazy. I feed him of a very simple mix of chaff and Baileys Lo Cal feed Balancer. The chaff makes him think he's had a feed and the balancer gives him all the nutrients he needs. Been on it a few weeks now and he's got a lot more energy, is more forward without being silly and looks really well as well as keeping his weight under control, (just!). A sack lasts over a month so worth it for the improvement in his general health and way of going. Good luck.

I have exactly the same problem with my welshie. I have just put her on Allen & Page Power and Performance. You only feed about 1kg a day which is much less than other competition feeds and it is supposed to help with sparkle & stamina. Only started it yesterday so too early to tell, but the girl on their helpline was great.
