Feeding ideas for poor doer 3 yo

I have owned my 3 year old colt since he was 2 months old and every year we seem to have this problem, always around this time too. It doesn't seem to matter what I feed him, he drops off a little bit and looks a bit ropey for a couple of months! He seems to have just had another little growth spurt which doesn't help.

He is a fussy eater...doesn't like anything too sloppy or too chaffy, but obviously needs a helping hand to get his weight back up. Is there anything you would recommend that will help him put on weight again but not totally blow his brains?

The only thing sloppy he seems to really like is a warm cereal meal mash but it's no good just by itself!

Have you checked his worm count as a first thought? May be fine but worth looking at especially with the seasonal pattern you describe.
