Just a quick one really. G is currently on Alfa A Oil, at about 1kg a day, and Allen and Page competition extra mix at 1.2kg a day with Baileys Lo Cal balancer to top up the required vits and mins as he isnt on the recommended amount of mix a day. Now he is fed this as over the summer it keeps him with the required instant energy he needs, without piling on the pounds!

Now when we get to winter, I normally add Alfa Beet and cut down the competition mix to something like ride and relax. However, this year I am intending to do more with him, but not enough to warrant feeding the comp extra mix as he will be off his head on it! I fed Baileys Endurance mix at the end of the winter last year and was very pleased with him on it, but now struggle to get hold of it

So what do people feed for controlled energy and also to help with muscle developement over the winter without piling feed down him? Was looking at either Allen and Page sustain, or Dodson and horrell build up? He is a relatively good doer....

He gets 5kg on soaked hay a night over the winter and is on decent grazing

I feed Pidge on Alfa A Oil (1 scoop) and Top Spec Feed Balancer (300g), and then he has TS Cool and Condition cubes as well, which will get increased to 1 scoop in the winter, twice a day. I find he has plenty of energy

and maintains his weight now throughout the winter and his topline is good now too
