I recently got my first horse about 1 month ago. Hes 7 years old, bay Irish TB who was previously raced when younger.
I was feeding him 1 scoop of hilight mix, 1 scoop of beet and a big scoop/ nearly 2 scoops mollichaff.
He has been a bit fizzy on this so have been advised to try Fast Fibre.

Does anyone have any similar horses and what do u feed them?
Or has anyone got any views on Fast Fibre or any other feeds i could try?

Thanks xxx :)

Do you know what exactly is making him fizzy? If hes holding his weight well then id just change the feed which is making him excitable. When my ex racer was young he used to go crazy on any kind of mix, so we switched the mix for Conditioning cubes (slow release energy) and chaff.

I think it would be his mix making him fizz but not to sure, YO suggested the Fastfibre as thats what she gives all her horses of differnent breeds and sizes. He has no hay atm as hes living out all summer so but has good grass and plenty of it

Anyone any views of Fast fibre? x

I've never used fast fibre so can't comment on that but I just feed my 6yr old TB HIFI and fibre nuts. Easy. I also use baileys lo cal balancer or a vit min supp which he doesn't really need at the moment being on fresh grass!
If he loses weight in the winter I stuff him full of haylage and add veg oil to his feed.
The only thing with fast fibre is it has to be soaked? I couldn't be bothered with that, too much faff.
Mine doesn't need much hard feed, yours might be different :)

I would feed good quality horse nuts and a conditioning fibre if he needs it. As the horse is new to you and a TB I would feed as little as possible. Our TBs are not being fed at the moment as they are eating plenty of grass and are looking fantastic.

Thanks for the replys :) Im gunna try Fast fibre then if not working after ill revert to another solution lol. Im not to butherd bout the soaking as it only takes less than a min to soak and im up at yard for few hours most days :) xx
