Hi i currently feed my border terrier x bakers complete small dog and tinned dog food twice a day and after reading how bad bakers is for dogs was wondering if you guys could help suggest something else i could feed her that is going to be good for her, she is a very fussy eater and dosnt like eating anything that is two big for her any help would be greatly appricated:D

Why not try half raw, something like chicken wings, and half dry, something like Arden Grange that doesn't contain cereal? It's hard with a fussy eater, but ultimately if she is hungry she will eat, and until you break the cycle of you trying to constantly tempting her with different foods, she is in control. Up her exercise, it will make her hungrier.

Umm you really should not feed raw and dry in the same meal if thats what you meant!!

On the fussy side of things- choose what you want to feed and don't pander to her. Put food down if she has not eaten it in 20 mins, remove until next meal- repeat. She won't starve herself!!

Fish 4 dogs
Skinners
Wainwrights (P@H own brand)

All of the above plus some extra
Argen grange (very tasty/palatable) for fussy eaters (also do tinned meat)
Applaws (very good food) very high meat content (Aslo do meat sachets)

As suggested food down for a given period (short one) then lift, no add libbing and only put a small amount in the bowl at one time and let her clear the bowl before you add food rather than start with a full bowl:)
Always change fooeds gradually to prevent the crappers:D

I second fish4dogs, it looks expensive but you don't feed as much, in fact our spaniel only has half a small mug twice a day- half of what she used to have eating Burns. She's fussy too and absolutely demolishes fish4dogs now, big thumbs up... oh and buy from Amazon it's a lot cheaper!

I feed Arden Grange and then a 150g pouch of one of the better quality foods such as James Wellbeloved, Nature's Choice or Prestige. My dog is a cocker so one of these smaller pouches would probably be enough for your dog too?

AG is a bit more expensive than Bakers but I don't think you need to feed as much as it's better quality so works out about even in the end.

Another thumbs up for fish4dogs, really smells so very enticing and the small bite food is very small so certainly shouldn't put her off for that reason. Would also second applaws, small bite is a good size and the wet food is good enough to eat yourself!! Need very small amounts of each of these, before I went raw I alternated between them (I have a weird dog that thrives on variety) and still use both of them when raw is not an option (ie camping, kennels etc.) You could also mix in a little tinned fish if you wanted for variety and to encourage eating - anything in oil or tomato, pilchards are cheap!
