I pick my new baby pony up this week a 6 month old trad filly I've had plenty youngsters before but never a weanling. Just wondering wether people usually give hard feed or just hay - she will be on ad lib hay and out on grass most of day. Was thinking of just giving her a handful of hard feed to try make friends with her lol what do people think and what would you feed if anything. Thanks !

No she's just out at grass with other youngsters at the moment, here's some pics ps. She needs a name - open to suggestions

It's important not to over feed young horses as it causes problems with the rate of bone and tendon growth. A quality Youngstock balancer should give her the proteins, vitamins and minerals she needs.

Ad lib quality hay and free access to pasture are so important, exercise is important for the healthy development of strong bones and lungs.

Fifty Fifty is a good name for a coloured pony.

Absolutely gorgeous. What a cracking find. She is going to be a corker. Name - Mavis? Corky?! Oh and no hard feed, with the exception of a bit of unmolassed chaff for bribery!
