feeding new 2yr old

may i ask without stirring!!! - what supplements do 2 year olds need? if anything?

mine has her spillers youngstock mix and hi-fi molasses free.... (Shes 3 late in the year - very late)!

does she need anything else? or do i change the spillers to another mix as i know it said till they are 2ish?

never had a "baby" so forgive my ignorance!

Personally I would ditch the mix as it is full of cereal and put onto a fibre diet with a good vitamin and mineral supplement sadly the licks have been proven pretty useless as the horse doesnt spend long enough to get a balanced ration.
OP chose carefully and listen to those that have either been doing it a very long time or a good nutritionist or vet. I agree they dont want to be fat or growing too fast what you need is steady growth a good covering and enough protein in his diet for his muscle to grow and develop. I dont like natives with pot bellies and no top so I like mine to have a good level of nutrition with the correct balance of nutrients for correct growth been doing this for 38 years now and never had a case of OCD or joint problems and have always doen it the same way so no fashionable feeds unless they fit with the basic needs of the pony.
So again I will say a good alfalfa chaff and a balancer would be my choice any suregrow, topspec or any other brand my choice would be topspec but suregrow is just as good. For natives I usually only feed half rations of topspec as it cheaper than any of the others that way and just as effective. If an animal was poor I would feed full ration
Ad lib hay is a given with babies
