I've been reading on the banana thread that some of your horses like oranges....

Do you peel them or give them whole?

All 5 of mine eat carrots
4 of mine eat parsnips
3 of mine will eat cabbage
3 of mine will eat swede
1 of mine will eat banana
1 of mine will eat grapes

But I haven't tried oranges........ yet!

mine like satsumas, one likes them peeled and the other 3 will just eat them with the skin on.

they also all love melon so i give them a few chunks every now and then as a treat.
2 of mine love bananas
4 of mine will eat the usual fruit and veg
2 of mine will also eat (through pinching) nectarines, i cut in half to eat them and they pinch them so no danger of the stone being swallowed.

For some reason I hadn't thought of trying oranges! Would definately peel them though, I think.

My horse is rather fussy, but will eat grapes, swede and blackberries (apart from apple + carrots!). Spat out banana, pear and strawberry, though!

Lucy loved oranges. She ate the peel aswell. I did peel then and gave her it seperate as once my brother fed her the whole orange like you would an apple and it made such a mess :p He got covered in juce and was sticky for ages :D
Lucy ate prity much anything. She loved damsons and I gave them to her whole, she would suck off the fruit and spit out the stone. Even if you gave her afew at a time she would always spit out the correct number of stones :p :D

I've not tried much with the horrid one yet. I have tried sweed and he didn't like it but he does love prawn cocktail flavour crisps though  But then he is rather strange ;) :p :D :D

Mine loves them.
Small ones like satsumas just vanish but big ones get messy. He takes the whole thing between his front teeth and squeezes till it bursts then sucks the juice out. I stand well back
