My OH took our 9 week Spinone pup to the vet, general health check plus microchipping, she is being feed James WB puppy at the mo the vet advised changing her onto adult food when this 7.5kg sack is used up, due to joint development, OH didn't ask why, seems odd to me surely puppy food is designed for growing pups? anyone heard of this idea before?

Also sounds alien to me....I feed puppy food till atleast 12 months, and for our large breed rescues(I know alot don't like it) but we feed science plan) I personally thinks it is fab for large breed puppies, pupy food has ingredients to promote growth so not sure why the advice to place puppy on adult food.

I'm in agreement with CC and Cayla, I would never advocate changing puppy to adult food before 12 months at the earliest (dependant on breed) at 9 weeks she should be on it a looooooooonnng time yet!!

Not good advice at all. Whoever this vet gets his ideas from is a question in itself.
Stick with your pups kibble till over 9 months, then evaluate the growth rate and bone structure with how much muscle and fat they have.
Even letting your pup nibble on raw carrots and other veg helps them grow however sometimes the rear end smell can be overwhelming lol.

Probably the nutritionalist from the pet food company that did the couple of days of input on over the 5 years of training!!

Re the veg for a dog to get the best from veg it needs to be liquidised in order to break down the tough plant cell walls and get at the goodies. The dog cannot do this with it's own dental and digestive system.
