my pup is 8 weeks and Ive introduced Natural Instinct chicken to her.... but as well being a bit fussy over it, it appears to be going straight through her. Literally - what comes out of one end looks the same as what is going in the other, its coming out totally undigested  Interestingly I tried her with a little cooked chicken breast tonight from my own dinner and she flipping wolfed it down

she is bright in herself and been checked by the vet, wormed and had first vacc.

any thoughts?

ETA a pic, cos if I dont Im scared CT will come and duff me up :o

I don't feed raw, so I wont be of any help to you, except to say that that puppy is as bright as a button!! She's a delight. ;)

Alec.

thank you very much Alec, she really really is. Im hoping she will be very special. You prob dont remember but I lost a young bitch 2 years ago at 18months old. I was utterly distraught. This girl is by the same stud dog and a closely related bitch to her mother. It means an awful lot to me to have Diva's wee sister.

Bless her - she looks delightful! What do her poos look like after the cooked chicken? If they look digested, then I would probably feed her cooked food for a couple of weeks until her digestive systems "grew up" a bit, and then re-try on raw after that. It is probabably that her systems are a little immature, and the only other thing you can do is to chew her food for her and then spit it in her mouth - so that it is partly digested, but cooking would probably be easier for the short term.

If you get fed up with her send her to me xx

Bit slow with pics, N. :D My advice would be raw chicken breast, progress to minced chicken with bone or smash up some small wings. Get shot of the natural instinct for now.

I give really bashed up chicken wings to start off with (stress relief is amazing :D) and sprats with frozen carrots (great for teething less loss of shoes) rather than all raw. Some pups its just too much protein to start off with. Did she come on raw or did breeder feed commercial diet??

My dogs are Raw red but give them nature diet and I get bum explosions ( well sharts really) not sure about what your feeding though. Get her in chicken mince/ breast/ wings and nothing else meat wise, also are you treating her as well I wouldn't feed treats tbh.

lol ct :D the Nautural Instinct ive got her on now is just the minced chicken, i startred out on the one with different meats in it but wondered if it was too much for her. anyway she is no better on the chicken only version. will stick with chicken breast for now i think and see how that goes. i dont feed treats:cool:

I am a raw feeder including raising a litter on raw and I use Natural Instinct as part of the girls diet. How long ago was your puppy vaccinated as sometimes this can give them diarrhoea. Try adding some tree barks powder ( available from Dorwest Herbs) if she continues to be loose as this helps to slow the digestion. I would also contact the guys at Natural Instinct they are very helpful and will want to know if you are having a problem. It is possible that chicken doesnt suit your pup so maybe try a different variety.
Good Luck with your girl she looks lovely

just to update - after starving for 24 hours, then small frequent meals of cooked chicken, she has no transitioned back onto Natural Instinct Puppy and is doing brilliantly :D
