Just been having a convo in a dog group on facebook and I commented on not feeding both together due to different rates of digestion etc, basically what I've learned from reading posts on here.
I was told it is fine to feed together and was pointed to this article
http://blog.k9cuisine.com/dog-food-...-raw-and-kibblecanned-pet-food/#ixzz1cgVxLlYJ

Just wondered what opinions were on here about this?
I don't personally feed raw, no freezer space so can't really order online and keep it here plus I'm miles away from a butchers, but I still take a keen interest in it :)

I am currently feeding both- but not in the same meal. he has kibble for breakfast at approx 7 am and raw for dinner at approx 7 pm.

I was also advised not to feed them either together in the same meal or on the same day due to different digestion rates. I have a dane though which are prone to bloat so don't know if that was the reason. I only feed raw however so no problems :)

If you feed 12 ish hours apart the first meal will have been digested so it doesnt matter a jot about digestion times. Would never feed the two in the same meal

I found the article very interesting and am confused as whether you can feed them both together. Our pup started her raw diet on Wed. and so loves it.

Growing up as a child the family dogs were always fed tinned dog food with biscuits and they all thrived which would point to the fact that the 2 were compatable or were we just lucky.

All dogs were DG, my mums defo was. :D

I'd rather not, cos I'm paranoid. I only use kibble for kong filling and treats on walks.

Well according to that article your fears are unfounded, and it does look like they have done their research. Myself for the time being the Dobes are staying on Skinners purely because I dont have a big enough freezer space and Pip is on raw.

Probably Dg. I am ultimate paranoid owner, having texted the OH from work to check if Zak was still chewing his paw this morning.

Saying that, Brig refused to eat earlier so I gave him a handful of kibble then when he came looking for more later, he had his tripe and chicken necks.

I feed raw every 2 days - because im finding it a bit overwhelming so am experimenting before converting fully. It was someone on here that told me not to feed both on the same day, and Im not knowledgeable enough to go against it yet :) x
