I’ve just had to buy in some lovely rye hay as could not get my usual .
It’s for 3 natives that live out 24/7 , no rugs and natural shelter .
Anyone have any advice on feeding it as I’ve read mixed opinions on it .

It is likely to be rocket fuel. Can you soak it and feed tiny amounts. Rye is common place in yards with hard working horse, racehorses etc.

Where are you, there is an abundance of hay for sale in my area.

I moved from a livery yard that only supplied rye hay or haylage (farmer had run dairy cows there for decades) because it was like rocket fuel, made my horses fat and the PSSM one very sore.

I spent my entire life soaking the stuff - which sounds like your main option right now - and in the end went out and bought some meadow hay bales
