Hey, so my new horse's feet can crack at the top and lots of mud gets stuck to it aswell. What would be the best way to get the mud off and what feeding supplements do you suggest using? I have never likes using hoof oils/moisturisers what do you think?x

Thanks :)

Would recommend biotin - improved my filly's feet considerably. It's very cheap, and didnt put her off her feed either (she could detect even the slightest change in her feeds, no use trying to hide anything from her...)

As for the mud, wash it off with a stiff dandy brush and apply a hoof conditioner when they're dry to prevent any more cracks. I would recommend conditioners/moisturisers any day, but I only use hoof oil at shows because it can dry out hooves if used too often in my experience. Cornucrescine hoof ointment by Carr & day & Martin helped my filly's feet to grow quicker - their cornucrescine hoof moisturiser has a good reputation :)
