What’s everyone feeding their ulcer prone horses?

I have a horse needing condition and currently only have him on soft chaff as Speedi beet sent him loopy
Copra sent him loopy
And micronised linseed sent him loopy.

Struggling with what to feed that is low sugar and starch and do we need to be avoiding pelleted feeds? Is that not all feeds?!

My mind is blown, appreciate kind informative comments

Search the group as I literally posted this 2 weeks ago 😂 mine is half way through a month of gastroguard for grade 2/3 ulcers. He’s lost weight too. https://forums.horseandhound.co.uk/threads/ulcer-friendly-feed.842927/

I’ve got my boy on spillers ulca balancer, mollichaff (was on alfalfa but it made him a bit spooky and he didn’t like it anyway) and he’s on omega rice as he needs to put weight on (micronised linseed and rice bran). I did start acid ease too but the ulca balancer actually contains pre and probiotics so they said probably no need for both. He’s put on 15kg ish…loads and loads of hay too! He’s never without which is what the vet recommended

The vet advised me to feed high protein, high oil and low starch…alfalfa can help with buffering stomach acids but he didn’t like the taste of it. Ulca Balancer has 24% protein which is the highest I could find and he eats it well

Mine has EMS and has been treated twice for ulcers. I feed her Simple Systems Metaslim mixed with SS Timothy chop and a little soaked and rinsed Speedibeet to add water and fibre. Its working well for her.

Edited to add: Simple Systems will give you very good advice if you message them with details of your horse's needs if you look on their website.
