My pony has quite poor feet but is a very good doer. Any thought on what I could feed him to improve his hoof quality without piling on the pounds?

Thanks for the replies. He usually only gets a feed three to four times a week when he is ridden as he obviously doesn't need more. Any idea if that would be sufficient to make a difference if I did feed Pro-Hoof??

It does not make sense to do that. If you are feeding for vitamins and minerals they need it daily

Hmmm... I am sure he wouldn't mind having one feed a day but it goes against my 'not giving hard feed unless it is needed' train of thought!!!

But then it probably isn't needed at all. Im no stickler for rigid routines but feeding a few days a week probably isnt ideal tbh. Mine don't need hard feed but they get a few handfuls for their linseed, salt and magnesium (and vitamin e for one). Those quantities don't put weight on.

I use Pro Hoof for our section a who gets fat at the first sniff of spring grass! She gets it a bucket every day with literally a tablespoon of Speedi Beet, a teaspoon of micronized linseed, a sprinkle of salt and a small handful of Agrobs Aspero chaff - rations are upped in the winter though. The calories are minimal and her feet have really improved since she started on it.
