Mine is ridden about three times a week, goes out on scant grass for around 4 hours a day and gets a slice of hay in the evening and one to last till she's out in the afternoon. That's it - nothing else. She needs keeping trim to avoid laminitis and she's looking pretty good at the moment.

they get lunged for half an hour 5 days a week then were at a show most weekends. ther both up to weight just dnt want them losing condition.

If they have adlib hay/haylage when they are in then they probably don't need any hard feed at all, except perhaps a handful of chaff with a broad spectrum vit/min supplement, if you want to make sure they get all their nutrients.

Use a weigh tape every week to work out whether they are losing, maintaining or gaining weight - if they are losing you can start to add some hard feed.

My daughter's pony works six days a week, including schooling, hacking, jumping and competing and is just on restricted grazing, hay/high fibre haylage and a handful of high fibre cubes.

My horse has gone mad, he works six days a week Dressage, jumping and hacking hard, in the winter I was feeding 1 1/2 scoops of build up, 2 scoops of Alfabeet, however now he is living out on a handful of chaff, and that is only for his joint supplement, and he has more energy than he has all winter, I cant keep him calm!!!!!!!
