Hi everyone,

I was thinking of giving Feedmark's Extraflex a try...what does everyone think of it?

I noticed that they are giving 33% extra free and thought it might be worth a go?

Thanks in advance!

What condition are you feeding this to treat?
I've been looking into joint supplements for my mare who has recently been diagnosed with bone spavin. All I can say is make sure you look at the actual amounts of the active ingredients which these products contain - sometimes it is not actually that much! I did a quick search on Extraflex and it doesn't give quantities. Not to say it's no use but it's interesting to know as you can then work out what is the best value for money?
I've put my mare onto Riaflex - www.riaflex-equine.co.uk. It is pretty cost effective and seems to contain the highest quantities of the active ingredients (Glucosamine, MSM & Chondroitin) of any of the supplements I've looked at...

Sorry if that ended up a bit technical!!!!!

I've been using Extraflex HA on my lad for about 2 years now. He has a problem with a stifle due to surgery when he was 4yrs (he's 10 now) and he has been 100% sound all the time. I try and stock up when its on offer. Last year at Blair Feedmark were offering 50% free, so bought 2 large tubs and just running out now. The other good thing is when you re-order they send it in bags if you ask, so saving more plastic pots

I don't use that product but I do use some of their other products and they are brilliant. They also deliver free of charge!

Feedmark's product does have pretty much the highest spec of joint supplement products - which is on the label and on the website. Don't forget that these are per 60g - most competitors labels are per 100g.

Nutrient Analysis per 2 scoops
(60g) per 2 scoops
(60g)

Glucosamine hydrochloride 12.5g Glutamine 145 mg
Chondroitin sulphate 1000 mg Proline 45 mg
Methyl sulphonyl methane (MSM) 10 g Glucoronic acid 75 mg
Hyaluronic acid (HA) 75 mg Glutamic acid 45 mg
Omega 3 ALA 4560 mg Glycine 145 mg
Ascorbate 348 mg Manganese 52 mg

Its great !!

I used it for a while and found it really really effective - my lad is 27 and I was using it to improve general stiffness. Only reason I stopped was the cost - as have also now had to put him on ventilate for his breathing which has proved so great that I had to decide which one was more important !! Afraid I just couldn't afford over £60 a month on supplements!

Now use Vetvits Equiflex. Which is heaps cheaper and still really good.

I have two heavy horses with arthritis, when I looked around at various joint supplements, Feedmark's Extraflex HA was the one I chose - their website gives pretty detailed information on its formulation and the quantities of active ingredients was pretty high. I have been feeding it for 9 months and can definitely notice a difference.

IMO it is fantastic. My horse has a bone spavin and was virually written off a few yrs ago. Now he is totally sound and winning dressage comps with ease. I have tried some of the other TOP joint supps on the market and Extraflex works best for my horse. Their customer service is also fantastic.

Feedmarks stuff is generally good- but this stuff is excellent- i fed it to my gelding who fractured his hock and he was on it for over a year but his paces after were always commented on on his dressage scores as being ver clean, loose and swingy. And he was never lame after the fracture so im saying its great stuff. I used to buy two pots at a time, they do these offers 2/3 times a year so i only bought it when it was on offer.

P.s when i stopped using it to try another big brand Cortaflex... his scores dropped... so i put him back.... i swear he felt the difference

One of the joint supplements I tried before Extraflex was Cortaflex, including the one with HA in it and also liquid cortaflex. Extraflex IMO works far better in my horse's case. Personally I think since HA has started to get added into joint supps this has made a big difference to their efficacy.
