Has anyone used feedmark fibre blocks? I just came across them, and I'm quite interested as something to keep my gang occupied while turnout is limited at the moment.

Just interested in thoughts :)

Mine completely ignored it despite lots of encouragement. Don't know whether she didn't like the taste (alfalfa can be bitter apparently without some other flavour involved) or just couldn't be arsed / didn't get the whole block idea. I broke bits off to give to her and she still wasn't bothered. Shame, as they look like they'd keep them occupied for a while.

My two TBs love them; the baby connemara didnt have a clue what it was and hid it in his banks.

They dont spend ages eating them; maybe about 15 mins. They figured out pretty quickly that one big bite breaks it up pretty quickly.

I have used them thinking it would help forage last longer but they were demolished within 10 mins by all three horses.

I use the Simple Systems Lucie Bricks, my Haffie loves them, his eyes pop out on stalks when you take one into his stable. They don't last too long but make a change from standing at his hay bar, he has to chase it around the floor a bit.:)

My ISH picked at one for 10mis but soon got fed up and left it. My TB wouldn't even look at it... The halleys ones do look better - the grass ones might interest them more but I haven't tried them

I use the halleys ones, buy the pure grass ones. All mine love them and takes them between 15 and 30 minutes to eat them. They are a per ant part of my feed room now. The bigger horses have them if they are stuck in for a couple of days , like a lunch. The little yes have them at night as an extra with their hay. Also very handy for taking to shows. I love them

I use the halleys, give my boy 1 a night in a buckets soaked.

It fills the bucket when soaked, he sits and picks at it over night and by morning it's all gone.

I use it for extra fibre for him to help his weight stay on, I change between the alpha ones and the just grass type.

He loves them , costs £7.50 for 12 blocks.

The Halleys ones are popular in our field :) I use the Timothy ones, and the BigFibre (timothy and oat straw). Not much difference in popularity. They enjoy nibbling at them as a change to wet grass, I think sometimes they like something dry and a little stalky when it's been raining for weeks!

The blox are a bit less popular now they're getting hay in the field, but they will still nibble at them, take a break and go back later.
