For the record, I have affiliation what so ever to this company - just want peoples opinions on their products!

Does anyone use them? In particular Settlex, Zerobute and Equidermis?

Thanks

Nothing special IMO.

Isn't Settlex for tummies? If so try Coligone, I haven't heard anyone say anything negative about that. I posted while ago about something like No Bute and was told to get Devils' Claw.

www.barefootbasics.co.uk (or .com) are pretty good for getting the active ingredients that are in most supplements - so most calmers have Magnesium Oxide as an active ingredient, and you can get it from BB for about £5 for 3 months supply and it usuallly works better.

I've always found them excellent, I use Extraflex HA and Replenish, my friend uses Equidermis and had fab results, again no affiliation with them but highly recommend... Also very good customer service, and will do next day delivery from their site, apologies if I sound like an advert, just dead impressed

I used settlex for my boy and it seems to have cut down on the amount he cribs/windsucks but doesn't eliminate it. I have been told though by a dr of chemistry that you can do it a lot cheaper by using limestone flower etc. The extraflex HA or something was good but the date ran out before I could finish it - got a bit of a rum deal there!! Oh and I swear by their garlic - it's the best i've used!

Settlex is very good for horses that crib/windsuck - it is a bit like gaviscon, lol. Windsucking is apparently a reaction to a build up in stomach acid or something (not always but often) and settlex acts to prevent acid build up.

I have only had experience of these in yards that I have worked on, not on my own horses, so would not like to comment really.

I use Extraflex HA and Zerobute. 15 months ago my big Clydie x was diagnosed with arthritis, I looked around at every joint supplement and Extraflex had excellent high levels as well as being a bit cheaper than some of the others. I have also used Equidermis in the past, but now feed Baileys ecomony cubes which have added linseed and these give my two biggies a lovely shiney coat. I read all the info about Settelex when it was first brought out, a lot of research went into it and I know it has helped quite a few cribbers. I like Feedmark because it's next day delivery and they are always having lots of offers which helps the pocket.

I've got both my big horses on Zerobute - otherwise they would be on Danilon. Our old dog is also on Agility - which is a joint supplement with devils claw in it. He used to be really stiff, but since he's been on Agility he's much better.

Settlex didn't help my cribber, but then neither did Coligone or Gastic-X both of which tend to come very well recommended. Equine America's U-Gard Plus does seem to help him, as does carefully watching his diet.

Never tried Zerobute.

Equidermis gave mine a lovely coat & seemed to help with his itchiness.
