Well totally totally fed up today - last night the connector from the fenceman fence unit (a ring that fixes under the red screw thing) and then attaches to the tape via a long flat unit - got snapped in the wind. No fear I thinks pops to where it was purchased from to get a replacement..... and yep you gussed it - nothing available. So now got horses that i cannot turn out unless I can nick someone elses connector off their fence.

I am really really dissapointed with the well known "mega store" for not stocking what is obvioulsy a "consumable" item and I will be contacting them tomorrow.

If they can't be bothered to stock replacement bits then they should advertise the fact and give customers the choice of going elseswhere !

Buy a new kit then take it back, complaining the [faulty ] thing is faulty!

Sounds as if it could be botched together.

Us men do have our uses you know....:)

Can you not cut the insulation back, twist the bare end around the contact (the threaded thingy the red knob screws onto), then screw the red knob firmly back on? Electricity is not fussy, so long as there is a circuit and you remember to switch it back on, it will probably work. Got a fence tester?

If stuck, put up a photo and we'll see what we can suggest.

This! You can just bare the wire, wrap it around the connector point on the energiser and hold in place with anything that will hold it. I certainly wouldn't buy 'spares' for something like that.

Or even simpler....just get a crocodile clip set and that will do. They have a ring at end that will screw under the red bit and croc clip connects to tape. When I worked in farm supply store no fencing brands stocked us with replacements...because custiners would invariably buy the generic cheaper croc clip connections!
