Feel lost (moan)

Ive had my mare for 9 years and would never sell her , still ride her , and have moved yards but i just dont get much enjoyment out of owning lately . maybe its the weather , wouldnt loan her either, anyone else feel like this ?????? also any ideas on new things i could do with her maybe a change would help. I only hack , horse trailer been sold due to redundancy but not competition minded and never have been . I would like to spring out of bed like i used to in the mornings excited about going up the stables instead of rather having a lie in , sorry i sound so dreary dont want to bring you all down , ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE !!!!!!!

What about booking a lesson with a new instructor, or see if there is a small local show or pleasure ride you could hack to? I am sure you'll feel more energized in spring, this is a pretty depressing time of year

I'm sure it is prob this miserable weather. Would it be an idea maybe to arrange for someone else to turn her out one morning at the weekend so you get a lie in aswell. We all love a lie in.

I felt a bit like you but then I went hunting a couple of times - it really perks you up

I know how you feel - this winter has just clung on with its fingernails this year and staying motivated is very hard.
How many of you are there on your yard? 2 years ago, my instructor wrote a musical ride for 6 of us to do (we were all very unmotivated and she was giving us something to work towards). It was brilliant! We had such a laugh and the horses loved working together and got really excited and frisky.
The other thing we did this year (before my lad did himself an injury in his field) was grown-up gymkhana games. A couple of us hit the deck at times, but nothing that a slug of sloe gin didn't put right!

What would you normally do with her? why not trying something different like dressage, endurance, xc etc.

I think it's the January/February blues - at least thats what I call it. Winter has just been long and hard and I find these two months are the worst. Come March when the grass starts to grow, the horses are out more and that yellow thing in the sky hopefully appears I always feel better again...until next year

I'm so glad it's not just me! I am so utterly fed up too, I have to hack out only and have just completely lost this weekend because of the snow

My OH keeps saying just hang on, it's only another month. But he doesn't have a grumpy bolshy horse to deal with, just a grumpy bolshy girlfriend!!!!
