Hello,

Sorry to be a bit self indulgent and mopey but I took the day off work today to pick up my new equitrek trailer (2nd hand but new to me anyway!). It was quite a long journey and about half way through with another 2 hours to go my jeep throws a wobbly in the fast lane and makes a horrid noise then the front tyre blows.

It shock me up a bit and I then had to wait 2.5 hours in the freezing cold at the side of the motorway for the recovery people to get me. They apparently couldnt find me even though I gave them the SOS box number I was right next to.

It seems not only has the tyre gone but there is a problem with the differential (I think thats what they said).

I got towed to a garage and its getting fixed up for me.

Thankfully the lovely lady I'm buying the trailer from was totally brilliant and is helping me out big time on Sat as she is driving the trailer to a services near her home on Saturday to help my journey then. I still have to be there at 9am though so a 5am start. I feel awful for messing her around.

I'm gutted as I've only had the jeep a couple of weeks. The garage that I bought it from is lending me another 4x4 to collect the trailer at the weekend and also...and this is worry enough...to get my new horse on Monday!

I so wanted to pick up my new ponio with MY car and trailer.

Generally I am very happy and look on the bright side and yes I have counted my blessing that I have a spare 4x4 on loan and lovely friends and trailer seller to help me..and to be able to have a car, trailer and horse is indeed a massive privilage.

Just right now I feel like a like a right grump. grrrrr

Although it is fantastic that the seller was so understanding and you do have another car to tide you over for now I can understand how gutted you are that this has happend to your car and that it is out of use at the moment. I really hope that you can get your 4x4 fixed and up and running asap and without a huge cost to you! I also hope that you pick both your trailer and horse up safely.

Cheer up it will all work out. Last week when I was in the process of buying the newbie had to ring the bank from abroad while I was on holiday to order the bankers draft. When they said I couldn't do it over the phone as they couldnt verify who I was I nearly lost the plot. Anyone would think it wasn't my money! We sorted it in the end but I know what you mean. You get all excited then life slaps you in the face with a wet kipper!
