My friend has started going riding with my mum on our horses, she learned to ride with us when she was a kid and has ridden on and off over the years but not for about the last 3... so she's a novice really but very confident..

Anyway, she's ridden the old mare we have a couple of times but now she's finished hunting so doesn't really need the exercise anymore - so I suggested she go out on Badger!

Set off flat out with her up a field, then again up a glass verge when they were supposed to be having a steady canter!

I think she was a bit scared but she lived!

Guess I forget that he likes to gallop every where! She doesn't sound too traumatised so hopefully she'll ride him again!

Badger wrote me this email pleading me to have him. I quote 'Mummy makes me canter on glass verges, puts me in pink, does she not relise I'm a boy? and bling which the hunters laugh at. I'd much like to come down south and let you ride me, feed me and take me showjumping.'

I think we really ought to respect his wishes.

I let him go show jumping in the summer though and I think he would miss his hunting... even if he does have to wear pink bling!

He's much more intelligent than I thought though - I got his house the tinterweb a couple of weeks ago and daddystarbucks hasn't worked out how to send emails yet! I'll tell him to ask Badge next time he gets stuck!
