My dads just been getting on at me because I've entered an Intro instead of PN at my horses first event, says I'm being pathetic blah blah blah..

Now, I've done this because it's a new event so I have no idea what it's like, and although my horse is quite established in his jumping his experience doing XC on his own is quite limited.

I really don't see why it matters if thats what I feel more comfortable doing for the first one!!

Am I i being a big fat wimp or am I being sensible??? Mum thinks I'm doing the right thing, why do men have to be such a pain!?

you're doing the right thing in my opinion, you dont want to do something quicker than you're ready and regretting it, better off taking it slow and doing it right, good luck!! ;-)

Thanks, I think so too!

I'd feel a right div if I went strait PN, it was mega hard and I put my horse off forever!

I was going to do another PN first but looks like i might get balloted BUT I know that one and it's a really strait forward first time option, so totally different to one where no one has a clue what it will be like.

You're being very sensible, it's what I would have done. Its better that you have a confident day out so as not to put either of you off, then you can easily move to PN.

That's men for you (well most) !!!!

You should be pleased he has so much faith in you, but you do whatever feels right. It can onle serve to build your confidence.

My husband sounds just like your dad!! Men are so competitive. I did some PN last year and they went well, but haven't had a run since end of Sept due to wedding and then the rain, so have entered 2 intros for Aug just to get going again. I don't listen to him anymore, just do what you're comfortable with and enjoy....afterall its supposed to be fun!!

Nah, I'm sure that's not the case, if he is anything like my dad, they just try and push you (in a nice way) cos they know you have talent and want to see their kids do well.
